of <h1>Notification No. 3/2000 Grants Excise Duty Exemption for Goods from Northeast India and Numaligarh Refinery under Central Excise Act</h1> The Central Government issued Notification No. 3/2000 on February 9, 2000, under the Central Excise Act, 1944. This notification amends a previous notification (No. 33/99-Central Excise) to provide an exemption from excise duty for goods specified in the schedule that are cleared from units located in the northeastern states of Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, goods cleared from the Numaligarh Refinery are also exempted from excise duty. This amendment is made in the public interest under the relevant sections of the Additional Duties of Excise Acts.
