This appointment empowers the Commissioner to exercise duties and powers for adjudicating matters related to a show cause notice issued to a company and others, originally handled by the Commissioner of Customs (Export) at the Air Cargo Complex in Mumbai. This action follows the notification issued by the Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, Mumbai Zonal Unit, concerning a case from May 2007.
