<h1>Officers Appointed to Handle Diplomatic Refund Claims Under Section 11B of Central Excise Act, 1944</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed specific officers as Central Excise Officers to handle refund claims filed by diplomatic missions, consulates, diplomatic agents, or career consular officers under section 11B of the Central Excise Act, 1944. These appointments, effective from July 30, 2007, designate officers from the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and Joint Secretaries (Protocol) from the governments of Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu. Each officer is vested with the powers of an Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Central Excise to manage claims within their respective jurisdictions.
