of <h1>Approval Committee Formed for MEPZ Special Economic Zone in Chennai under SEZ Act 2005</h1> The Central Government of India has established the Approval Committee for the MEPZ Special Economic Zone in Chennai under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The committee is chaired by the Development Commissioner of the MEPZ Special Economic Zone and includes members from various government departments. These members are from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Customs, Income Tax, the Ministry of Finance, and the Tamil Nadu government. In the Development Commissioner's absence, a Joint Development Commissioner will represent them. This notification was issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
