of <h1>Excise Exemption Revised: Pan Masala and Tobacco Products Excluded in Northeast India per Notification No. 45/1999-CE.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, has issued Notification No. 45/1999-CE, dated December 31, 1999. This notification amends previous notifications (32/99-CE and 33/99-CE from July 8, 1999) to exclude goods classified under Chapter 24 or heading No. 21.06 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, which pertains to pan masala and tobacco products, from excise exemptions granted to the northeastern states of India.
