of <h1>Excise Duty Exemption on Stainless Steel Coin Blanks Withdrawn; 8% Duty Imposed on Goods per Notification 5/98-CE</h1> The Central Government has withdrawn the excise duty exemption on stainless steel coin blanks and imposed an 8% duty on parts of goods listed in Notification 5/98-CE. This amendment, effective from September 21, 1998, is made under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and aims to serve the public interest. Specifically, serial number 196 and its related entries are removed from the notification, and parts of goods listed are now included in List 8, following item 28.
