of <h1>Amendment Permits Duty-Free Sourcing for EOUs, EHTPs, and STPs Under Central Excise Act, 1944; Includes Power Plants and More</h1> The notification amends a previous government notification to allow Export Oriented Units (EOUs), Electronic Hardware Technology Parks (EHTP), and Software Technology Parks (STP) units to source duty-free captive power plants and generating sets with a capacity up to 1000 KVA, along with necessary spares, fuel, lubricants, and consumables, as recommended by the Development Commissioner. Additionally, it permits the Commissioner of Customs, upon recommendation, to approve duty-free sourcing of furnace oil for boilers used in textile units. These amendments are made under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, in the public interest.
