DGFT Amends Foreign Trade Policy: Intermediate Suppliers Now Benefit Under Advance Authorisation and Related Schemes.
The Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has amended the Foreign Trade Policy to allow benefits for intermediate supplies made against Advance Authorisation, Advance Authorization for Annual Requirement, Duty Free Replenishment Certificate (DFRC), and Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA). Specifically, amendments to Paragraphs 8.2(a), 8.3(a), and 8.4.1(i) entitle suppliers to these authorisations for intermediate supplies. Additionally, Paragraph 8.4.1(ii) specifies that if supplies are made against Advance Release Order or Back to Back Letter of Credit, suppliers are entitled to benefits as per Paragraphs 8.3(b) and (c) of the policy. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
