<h1>Amendment to Served From India Scheme: Duty-Free Credit Scrips Can Now Pay Excise Duty, See Para 3.6.4.10.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Served From India Scheme under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. As per Notification No. 12/2006 dated June 14, 2006, a new provision, Para 3.6.4.10, has been added. This provision allows the utilization of duty-free credit scrips earned under the scheme for the payment of excise duty. The scrips can be used for procuring inputs from domestic sources that are eligible for import under Para 3.6.4.5. This amendment is issued in public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
