Amendment to Foreign Trade Policy: Advance Licence Now Available for Exporters with Free Inputs Under Paragraph 4.1.8
The Central Government has amended Paragraph 4.1.8 of the Foreign Trade Policy (2004-2009) through Notification No. 45/2005 dated February 15, 2006. The amendment allows the facility of an Advance Licence to be available to exporters even when some or all inputs are supplied free of cost. For value addition calculations, the notional value of free inputs along with other duty-free inputs will be considered. If all inputs are free, exporters may opt to follow the provisions in Paragraph 4.2.7 of the Policy. This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
