of <h1>Amendment to Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009: 15% Minimum Value Addition Required for Spices under Chapter 09 ITC (HS)</h1> The Central Government has amended the Foreign Trade Policy for 2004-2009, specifying that for spices covered under Chapter 09 of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export & Import Items, a minimum value addition of 15% is required under an advance license. This amendment is issued under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended to be in the public interest. The notification was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, who also serves as the Ex Officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
