of <h1>Woollen Fabrics Exempt from Additional Excise Duty Under 1998 Notification Later Rescinded by 2004 Notification</h1> Notification No. 12/1998-CE, dated June 2, 1998, issued under the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise (Textiles and Textile Articles) Act, 1978, exempts woollen fabrics classified under Chapter headings 51.10, 51.11, or 51.12 from the entire additional excise duty. This exemption is deemed necessary in the public interest by the Central Government. However, this notification was later rescinded by Notification No. 33/2004-CE, dated July 9, 2004.
