Foreign Trade Policy Update: Import Restrictions on Certain Stones; Licensing Required per Chapter 25 Notes
The Central Government has amended the Foreign Trade Policy conditions for certain import items under the ITC (HS) Classifications for 2004-09. The amendments affect Exim Codes related to crude or roughly trimmed stones, blocks, slabs, and tiles, which are now restricted and require import licensing as per Chapter 25 notes. However, items such as tiles, marble blocks, and other calcareous stones are freely importable, provided their CIF value is at least USD 2700 per cubic meter. Additionally, import of marble is subject to conditions specified in Policy Circular No. 24 (RE-05)/2004-2009. These changes are made in public interest.
