Amendment to Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009: Edible Oils Import No Longer Restricted to STC and MMTC.
The Central Government, exercising its authority under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, has amended the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. The amendment involves the deletion of the last sub-paragraph of Para 3.8.3.1, which previously mandated that the import of all edible oils classified under Chapter 15 be conducted exclusively through the State Trading Corporation (STC) and the Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMTC). This change is issued in the public interest and is documented in Notification No. 17/2004-09, dated January 6, 2005.
