of <h1>Central Government Amends ITC (HS) Classifications; Removes BIS Standards for Various Electrical Components Effective May 6, 2004</h1> The Central Government, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, has amended the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2002-2007. Effective from May 6, 2004, several BIS standards have been removed from Appendix III to Schedule 1 (IMPORTS). These deletions include standards related to self-ballasted lamps, low and high voltage fuses, and various low voltage switchgear and control gear components like circuit breakers, switches, and motor starters. This amendment is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
