<h1>Export Policy Amended: Muli Bamboo Export Now Free Until March 31, 2007, Under Indian Forest Act Rules</h1> The Central Government has amended the Export and Import Policy for 2002-2007, specifically altering the classification under Code No. 4401 in Table B of Schedule 2. The amendment allows the export of Muli Bamboo (Melocanna baccifera) to be free until March 31, 2007, subject to compliance with the Transit Rules of the respective State Forest Departments as per the Indian Forest Act, 1927. Previously, the export of all wood and wood products, including Muli Bamboo, was prohibited. This change has been made in the public interest.
