of <h1>India Amends Import Rules: Naptha Import Now Free, Previous Power Sector Provisions Withdrawn Under Foreign Trade Act 1992.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued a notification amending the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items for 2002-2007. Effective immediately, the import of Naptha is now free, with the previous provisions for its import in the power sector being withdrawn prospectively. This change does not affect the applicability of other relevant statutory provisions. This notification is issued under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is intended for public interest.
