of <h1>India Updates Import List: New BIS Standards for Electrical Products Under ITC (HS) Appendix III Amendment</h1> The Government of India has issued an amendment to Appendix III of the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items under the Foreign Trade Policy 2002-2007. Effective from April 7, 2003, this amendment adds several electrical products to the import list, specifying applicable Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) standards for each item. These products include electrical immersion water heaters, electric irons, stoves, radiators, switches, lamps, circuit breakers, fuses, low voltage switchgear, and insulated cables. The notification is issued in the public interest by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
