Amendment to Export-Import Policy: DTA Suppliers Can Now Receive DEPB Benefits for Supplies to SEZs Under Paragraph 7.9 (I).
The Central Government, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, has amended the Export and Import Policy, 2002-07. A new sub-paragraph has been added to paragraph 7.9 (I), allowing Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) suppliers to receive the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) benefit in lieu of Drawback for supplies made to Special Economic Zones (SEZ) or units within SEZs. The amendment specifies that DTA suppliers are entitled to relevant benefits under paragraph 8.3 of the policy, discharge of export performance requirements, and DEPB benefits for SEZ supplies. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
