Government Lifts Export Restrictions on Key Agricultural Products, Eases Trade Policy for Grains and Pulses
The Central Government has amended the Foreign Trade Policy by removing export restrictions on various agricultural products. Quantitative ceilings on wheat, barley, maize, bajra, ragi, jowar, and butter have been deleted, allowing free export. Registration requirements for contracts related to non-basmati rice with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) have also been removed. Additionally, all types of pulses, including lentils, grams, and beans, are now freely exportable without packaging restrictions. These changes are made in the public interest and are reflected in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items.
