of <h1>India Extends Onion Export Deadline to March 31, 2002, Under Notification 44 (RE-2001)/1997-2002</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has extended the deadline for the shipment of onions for export. Initially, a total quantity of 1 lakh metric tons was approved for export until January 31, 2002, under Notification 44 (RE-2001)/1997-2002. This period has now been extended to March 31, 2002. The extension is made under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and is in the public interest. The notification was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
