of <h1>Government Amends Export Policy: 100,000 Metric Tonnes Onion Quota Added for December 2001-January 2002 Under FTDR Act, 1992</h1> The Central Government, under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, has amended the ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import items for 1997-2002. An additional export quota of 100,000 metric tonnes of onions, excluding Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram varieties, has been allocated for December 2001 and January 2002. The export is to be facilitated through specified State Trading Enterprises, each with designated quantities. These agencies will export directly or via registered exporters under existing terms, except for the revised export timeline. This notification serves public interest and is issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
