of <h1>India Amends Foreign Trade Policy: Exempts CNG Valve Imports from BIS Registration, Requires Chief Controller Approval.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued an amendment to the Foreign Trade Policy regarding the import of valves and valve fittings for CNG kits used in automobiles. This amendment exempts these imports from the requirement of manufacturer-exporter registration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), as outlined in a previous notification. However, this exemption is only valid for imports approved by the Chief Controller of Explosives in Nagpur. This change is enacted under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, and is in the public interest.
