<h1>Govt Amends Foreign Trade Policy: Allows Export of 50,000 Metric Tonnes of Onions Until August 31, 2001</h1> The Central Government has amended the Foreign Trade Policy to allow an additional 50,000 metric tonnes of onions for export. This decision, effective under Notification No. 20(RE-2001)/1997-2002, distributes the export quantities among several agencies, including the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. and the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board, among others. These agencies are authorized to export specified quantities by August 31, 2001. The shipment period for any unutilized balance from a previous notification has also been extended to the same date. This measure is issued in the public interest.
