<h1>India Bans EOUs and EPZs from Selling Tea in Domestic Tariff Area, Overrides Export and Import Policy 1997-2002.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued a notification under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, prohibiting Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in Export Processing Zones (EPZs) from selling tea in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA). This ban overrides provisions in paragraphs 9.9 and 9.10 (b) of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002. The directive is issued in the public interest and is effective immediately as per the notification dated 20th July 2000.
