<h1>Amendment to Export Policy: Additional 50,000 MT Onions Approved for Export with Conditions, Effective May-July 2000.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, allowing an additional 50,000 metric tonnes of onions for export during May to July 2000. The allocation is distributed among several agencies: NAFED (25,000 MT), Karnataka State Agriculture Produce Processing and Export Corporation Ltd and Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd (1,250 MT each), Maharashtra State Agriculture Marketing Board (10,000 MT), Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation (5,000 MT), Andhra Pradesh Marketing Federation (2,500 MT), and National Cooperative Consumers Federation (5,000 MT). Exports are subject to a Minimum Export Price set by NAFED and must be completed by August 31, 2000. Agencies must ensure fair treatment, quality maintenance, and provide regular reports to NAFED and the Department of Consumer Affairs.
