<h1>Export Policy Update: 50,000 MT of Onions Approved for Export Until August 31, 2000, with Specific Conditions</h1> The notification, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, amends the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002, allowing the export of onions, excluding Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram varieties, until August 31, 2000. A total of 50,000 MT of onions can be exported by specified agencies, including NAFED, Karnataka State Agriculture Produce Processing and Export Corporation, and others, with designated quantities. A refundable deposit and Minimum Export Price (MEP) are imposed, and exports must be completed by the deadline. Agencies must ensure quality and submit regular reports on permits and shipments. Bangalore Rose and Krishnapuram onions are freely exportable.
