of <h1>India Amends Export-Import Policy to Aid Cyclone-Hit Entities; Retains Trading House Status for AM2000-AM2001</h1> The Government of India has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, to support entities affected by the super cyclone in Orissa. Export Houses, Trading Houses, Star Trading Houses, and Super Star Trading Houses recognized during or before AM99-2000 will automatically retain their status for AM2000-AM2001, regardless of their export performance in 1999-2000. Affected units applying for recognition in 2000-2001 must meet average export performance based on FOB or NFE values from 1998-99 or the average from 1997-98 and 1998-99. This amendment aims to aid recovery in the public interest.
