of <h1>Amendment to Export and Import Policy exempts EOUs/EPZs exporting cotton waste from Textile Commissioner registration; quarterly reporting required.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. Effective from December 6, 1999, Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and Export Processing Zone (EPZ) units exporting soft or hard cotton waste under ITC(HS) Code No.5202 are exempt from registering with the Textile Commissioner. However, these units must report the quantity of cotton waste exported each quarter to the Textile Commissioner's office. This amendment is issued in the public interest.
