<h1>Indian Government Amends Policy to Allow 100,000 MT Onion Exports Until Jan 31, 2000; NAFED Sets Minimum Export Price</h1> The Indian government has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, allowing the export of 100,000 MT of onions until January 31, 2000. The allocation is divided among several agencies: NAFED can export 40,000 MT, Karnataka State Agriculture Produce Processing and Export Corporation Ltd and Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd can export 10,000 MT each, and Maharashtra State Agriculture Marketing Board and Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation can export 20,000 MT each. Exports are subject to a Minimum Export Price set by NAFED. Agencies must ensure quality, timely exports, and provide weekly reports to NAFED.
