of <h1>India Amends Export-Import Policy 1997-2002: New Rules for EOU/EPZ/EHTP/STP Units, Defense Supplies, and Floriculture.</h1> The Government of India has issued amendments to the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002, under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. Key changes include allowing EOU/EPZ/EHTP/STP units to sell certain finished products in the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) upon meeting export performance criteria, and counting supplies to defense and security forces towards export performance. Amendments also permit direct export from job worker premises if registered with Central Excise, and regulate the handling of scrap. Additionally, floriculture is reclassified under biotechnology, and a green card will be issued to qualifying export houses and service providers. These changes aim to enhance trade efficiency and compliance.
