Import classification of zinc ash: higher purity material free for registered actual users; lower grade material restricted to licensed processing. Amendment inserts EXIM codes classifying zinc ash imports by composition: zinc ash with zinc >65% and lead/cadmium within specified limits is free for units registered with the Ministry of Environment & Forests on an actual user basis up to registered annual limits; zinc ash with lower zinc or higher lead/cadmium is restricted and permitted only against an import licence for processing or re use as per the Import Licensing Note on hazardous waste.
