of <h1>India Amends Import Policy: Zinc Ash with High Zinc Content Freely Importable; Restrictions Apply for Lower Quality.</h1> The Government of India has amended the Import Policy for zinc ash and related items under the Foreign Trade Policy 1997-2002. Zinc ash containing more than 65% zinc with limited lead and cadmium content is now freely importable by units registered with the Ministry of Environment & Forests on an actual user basis, within specified annual limits. Zinc ash with lower zinc content and higher lead or cadmium levels is restricted and requires a license for import, intended only for processing or reuse. Amendments also affect import conditions for items under specific Exim codes, with some entries being deleted.
