of <h1>India Amends Import Rules: Special Licence Needed for Ceramic Tiles Imports Over $15/sqm Under Notification No. 3 (RE-99)</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce, issued Notification No. 3 (RE-99) dated April 6, 1999, under the Foreign Trade Policy 1997-2002, amending the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items. The amendment specifies that imports of items classified under 69079000 (Other) and 69089002 (Ceramic mosaic tiles) are permitted against a Special Import Licence (SIL) if the cost, insurance, and freight (C.I.F.) value is at least US $25 per square meter for the former and US $15 per square meter for the latter. This notification was issued in the public interest.
