of <h1>Central Government Amends Export and Import Policy 1997-2002, Effective April 1, 1999, under Foreign Trade Act 1992.</h1> The Central Government has amended the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, through a revised edition dated March 1999, under the authority of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. This revised policy, which includes amendments up to March 31, 1999, will be effective from April 1, 1999. The changes are issued in the public interest and have been authorized by the Director General of Foreign Trade, who also serves as an ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
