of <h1>Government Updates Customs Duty Rates for Specified Goods; New Rates at 57.5% for Certain Items Under Notification No. 58/2007-Customs</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 21/2002-Customs, initially issued on March 1, 2002, concerning the exemption and effective rate of basic and additional duty for specified goods under Chapters 1 to 99. As per Notification No. 58/2007-Customs dated April 13, 2007, changes include substituting the entry '50%' against items (A), (B), and (C) at serial number 34 in the table, and changing the entry to '57.5%' at serial number 434. These amendments are made under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
