Authorised dealer guarantees for import related external liabilities allowed under foreign trade policy, subject to Reserve Bank specified terms. The amendment permits an Authorised Dealer to give a guarantee, Letter of Undertaking or Letter of Comfort for any debt, obligation or other liability incurred by a person resident in India and owed to a person resident outside India arising from import of goods, provided such imports are permitted under the Foreign Trade Policy and subject to terms and conditions specified by the Reserve Bank.
