RBI Amends Foreign Exchange Regulations: Domestic Tariff Area Units Can Receive Foreign Currency from SEZ Supplies
The Reserve Bank of India issued an amendment to the Foreign Exchange Management (Foreign Currency Accounts by a Person Resident in India) Regulations, 2000. This amendment, effective upon its publication in the official Gazette, modifies the existing regulations to include payments received in foreign exchange by a unit in the Domestic Tariff Area for supplying goods to a unit in a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This change is made under the authority granted by the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, and is part of the Sixth Amendment to these regulations.
