<h1>RBI Amends Foreign Exchange Regulations, Bans Foreign Investment in Indian Print Media Sector Under FEMA 35/2001-RB</h1> Notification No. FEMA 35/2001-RB, issued by the Reserve Bank of India, amends the Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident outside India) Regulations, 2000. Effective immediately, the amendment prohibits Foreign Institutional Investors (FII), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Corporate Bodies (OCB), and Foreign Venture Capital Investors from purchasing shares or convertible debentures of Indian companies engaged in the print media sector. This modification is made under the powers granted by the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, partially altering the previous Notification No. FEMA 20/2000-RB.
