of <h1>Customs Act Notification Amended: Duty Exemption on Pulses Extended to April 1, 2008, under Notification No. 42/2007.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 21/2002-Customs, initially issued on March 1, 2002, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment extends the exemption from basic and additional duties on pulses (classified under code 0713) until April 1, 2008, replacing the previous deadline of August 1, 2007. This amendment, issued under Notification No. 42/2007 dated March 20, 2007, is deemed necessary in the public interest. The principal notification had been previously amended by Notification No. 37/2007-Customs on March 7, 2007.
