<h1>New Customs Officers Appointed in India Under Customs Act 1962, Replacing 1963 Notification.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has appointed specific officers as Customs Officers, superseding the previous notification No. 38/63-Cus dated February 1, 1963. The appointed officers include Appraisers, Examiners, Superintendents, Preventive Officers, Women Searchers, Ministerial Officers, and Class IV Officers within the Customs Department across India. Additionally, Superintendents and Inspectors from the Central Excise Department, Officers from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Assistant Directors of the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau are also designated as Customs Officers. This appointment is formalized in Notification No. 31/97-Cus (N.T.) dated July 7, 1997.
