of <h1>Director of Statistics and Intelligence appointed as Commissioner of Customs (Appeals) for North Zone u/s 4(1) of Customs Act.</h1> The Central Government, exercising powers under Section 4(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, appoints the Director of the Directorate of Statistics and Intelligence, Customs and Central Excise, New Delhi, as the Commissioner of Customs (Appeals) for the North Zone. This appointment is formalized under Notification No. 70/89-Cus. (N.T.) dated December 15, 1989, granting the appointee jurisdiction over the North Zone Collectorates.
