This decision was based on a prevailing practice under the Customs Act, 1962, and section 49 of the Finance Act, 1986. The Central Government, using its authority under section 28A of the Customs Act, has directed that any auxiliary duty that would have been payable during this period will not be collected, adhering to the established practice of non-levy.
