<h1>Clause 9: Governors' Imports Exempt from Customs Duty for Personal and Official Use, Including Cars and Household Items.</h1> Imports by Governors, as specified in Clause 9 of the Government of India (Governor's Allowance and Privileges) Order dated January 1, 1950, are exempt from customs duty. This exemption includes articles for personal use, wear, or consumption by the Governor or their family; food, drink, and tobacco for household or guest consumption; furnishings for official residences; and motor cars for the Governor's use. This provision applies to imports or purchases made by Governors upon their appointment or during their tenure.
