of <h1>Customs Duty Exemption for Ford Foundation Imports Rescinded After 20 Years; Refer to Notification No. 130/2016 for Details.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, granted an exemption from customs duties for all goods, including automobiles, imported by the Ford Foundation for official use. This exemption, outlined in Notification No. 66/96-Customs dated September 2, 1996, covered both the primary customs duty and the additional duty as per the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This exemption was later rescinded by Notification No. 130/2016 on October 25, 2016.
