of <h1>Commissioner of Customs, Tuticorin, appointed special adjudicator for cases under Customs Act, 1962, by CBEC.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs, under the Customs Act, 1962, has appointed the Commissioner of Customs, Tuticorin, as a special adjudicator. This appointment authorizes the Commissioner to act as the Commissioner of Customs for Port-Export in Chennai and for Port in Kolkata. The purpose is to adjudicate matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company and others by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Mumbai Zonal Unit. This notice pertains to an investigation initiated in May 2006.
