of <h1>New Exchange Rates for Foreign Currencies Under Customs Act 1962 Effective September 1, 2006</h1> The notification issued on 28th August 2006 by the Board under the Customs Act, 1962, establishes the exchange rates for converting foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods, effective from 1st September 2006. It supersedes the previous notification dated 26th July 2006. The rates are specified for various currencies including the Australian Dollar at 35.70 INR, Canadian Dollar at 42.35 INR, Euro at 59.95 INR, and US Dollar at 46.80 INR among others. Additionally, the rate for 100 units of Japanese Yen is set at 40.20 INR.
