of <h1>New Exchange Rates for Foreign Currencies Set Under Customs Act, 1962 Effective May 1, 2006</h1> The notification, effective from May 1, 2006, issued by the Board under the Customs Act, 1962, establishes the exchange rates for converting various foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods. It supersedes the previous notification dated March 28, 2006. The specified exchange rates are as follows: Australian Dollar at 33.90, Canadian Dollar at 39.95, Euro at 56.10, Pound Sterling at 81.05, US Dollar at 45.35, and Japanese Yen at 39.25 per 100 units, among others. These rates apply to the currencies listed in Schedules I and II of the notification.
