of <h1>Customs authority updates foreign currency exchange rates for imports, effective March 1, 2006, superseding previous notification.</h1> The notification issued by the customs authority on February 23, 2006, establishes the exchange rates for converting foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods, effective from March 1, 2006. The rates are specified for various currencies including the Australian Dollar (33.15 INR), Canadian Dollar (39.00 INR), Euro (53.35 INR), Pound Sterling (78.15 INR), and US Dollar (44.65 INR), among others. Additionally, the exchange rate for 100 units of Japanese Yen is set at 37.75 INR. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. 5/2006-NT-Customs dated January 25, 2006.
