The amendments include adding new entries to the table in the notification, setting the duty on polycarbonates (tariff code 3907 40 00) at 5%, bis-phenol A (tariff code 2907 23 00) at nil, and epichlorohydrin (tariff code 2910 30 00) at 2%. This amendment, made under the Customs Act, 1962, is deemed necessary in the public interest and was published in the Gazette of India on 5th October 2006.
