of <h1>Central Government Appoints Chief Commissioner as Director General (Specific Safeguards) Under Customs Tariff Rules, 2002</h1> The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Customs Tariff (Transitional Product Specific Safeguard Duty) Rules, 2002, has appointed the Chief Commissioner as the Director General (Specific Safeguards). This appointment supersedes the previous notification No. 104/2004-CUSTOMS (N.T) dated 8th September 2004, and is formalized through Notification No. 81/2005-Customs (N.T.) dated 20th September 2005. This notification was later superseded by Notification No. 16/2007-Customs (N.T.) dated 22nd February 2007.
